Awards shortlist and ceremony host unveiled

The first stage of judging has now been completed and we can announce the thirty finalists who will be competing for ten Havering Business Awards at the gala dinner and awards ceremony on 1 October at The City Pavilion.

Hardeep Singh Kohil Over 300 local business people are expected at the awards ceremony and gala dinner at City Pavilion on Friday, 1 October. This year's host will be writer, presenter and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli, well known to TV and radio audiences as a presenter, and currently touring in his one-man show, The Nearly Naked Chef.

Hardeep is a regular on BBC 1's Question Time, and has written and presented documentaries on Channel 4, including the BAFTA award winning In Search of the Tartan Turban. He was a runner-up on the first series of Celebrity Masterchef, and has also been a presenter and documentary-maker for BBC Radio 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as writing for many national newspapers and magazines.

Hardeep says, "It's good to be able to celebrate business success in difficult economic times. I'm looking forward to meeting some enterprising people – and entertaining them, too. If they ask really nicely, I'll even share my lamb curry recipe with the winners."

Tickets are £75.00 each and tables of 8, 10 or 12 can be purchased, it's a great way to network in the borough and have a great time too.
